The members of Arts Place Gallery would like to thank everyone who came out and supported our local gallery last Sunday at our Annual Art Auction! You made our year! We are delighted to say that thanks to all of your generosity, those of you who donated items for the auction to those of you who came out and placed bids, we will be able to continue promoting artists in our area for another year.

The City of Welland has released its third consecutive Annual Report, showcasing the city’s 2018 accomplishments. The report is an information tool that highlights the city’s progress, achievements, and commitment to transforming Welland into a smarter city through smarter services and more open data. One of the achievements highlighted is Welland’s platinum status award from the World Council on City Data for ISO 37120 certification on Sustainable Development on Communities: Indicators for City Services and Quality of Life. 

The Niagara Association of REALTORS® (NAR) reported 676 property sales processed through the NAR Multiple Listing Service (MLS®) System in March 2019. This represents a -0.15% decrease in sales compared to March of last year.

The residential average sale price of $468,487 was 6.92% higher than last March. The average days on market increased from 45 to 46 in the residential freehold market and increased from 62 to 66 in the condominium market.

As a result of this year’s Many Hands Project, $40,800 was donated to Pathstone Mental Health – a community-based organization that provides innovative and effective treatment for all children in Niagara diagnosed with mental health issues. The funds were announced at a Many Hands Project reveal ceremony held at Branscombe Mental Health Centre in St. Catharines on April 15. The donation included $35,858 raised by NC student fundraisers and $5,000 from Canadian Tire Bank, a sponsor and long-time supporter of NC’s Many Hands Project.

Coordinating our future care can involve a team of people. This can include people who are close to the patient, in addition to experienced healthcare providers. It is important for a patient to take the time to decide who will make up their team.
