Climate change – and ecological justice – will be the focus of an address by Joe Gunn, executive director, Citizens for Public Justice (CPJ), when he visits Welland.

Gunn is guest speaker for St. Kevin Parish’s 2015 Distinguished Speaker Night, Monday, Nov. 23.

Property Purchase
We were scheduled to take possession of the Cordage Green property on June 30th and then July 28th.  We are still waiting.  The City of Welland, who owns the land, discovered that there were a couple of undischarged mortgages on lots that somehow got missed when they took back the land for unpaid taxes sometime in the 1950’s.   This will require a court order to discharge the mortgages.

A company or professional’s brand identity, and how it’s used to communicate with the public, can make or break growth and success. Niagara’s premier professional development day, GWEn (Growing Women Entrepreneurs) 2015 Conference, will address brand evolution, tactics in all areas including social media, and highlight the brand development of keynote speaker, celebrity chef and host of Food Network’s “Bake with Anna Olson”, Anna Olson. This inclusive day-long event will take women entrepreneurs “Beyond The Brand” as they come together for a day of education, inspiration and connection.

The heavy rain and changing winds may have stopped the show at the Niagara Food Festival last weekend but it didn’t stop a class act like Kim Mitchell from recognizing a community need and providing The Hope Centre with a generous donation. teamed up with the Seaway Mall to present an #ILoveMyWelland PHOTO CONTEST. We received 60 entries during the submission period of Sept.1st to Sept. 17th, 2015.

Our panel of judges have reviewed the entries and have selected the TOP 15 'creative and compelling images' to showcase the unique attributes that make our City great.
