Thank You From Meals on Wheels Niagara

Meals on Wheels Association (MOWAN) would like to sincerely thank community partners, volunteers and families for their support and dedication to seniors and adults living with disabilities within the Niagara Region.

Each year, community support agencies across Ontario celebrate Community Support Month in an effort to raise awareness of the value of supports available to seniors and adults living with disabilities. October 1- October 7, 2018 marked Meals on Wheels week. This is an opportunity for Meals on Wheels agencies to acknowledge the dedication and support of community partners and volunteers. Volunteers generously give of their time to deliver almost 3000 hot and frozen meals each week. Not only does this service provide a nutritious meal, it also provides the opportunity for volunteers to check on an individual’s health and well- being. This valuable program helps individuals live independently in their own homes and communities for as long as possible.

Leslie Kennedy, MOWAN Chair says, "We would like to sincerely thank all the volunteers that help to make this program such a success. Without their kindness and willingness to help, Meals on Wheels agencies could not support people within our communities. We would also like to thank all community partners that assist daily with preparing the meals and ensuring quality meals are ready for delivery.”
