At various times, many people may feel frustrated by the performance of their investments. A total of 11 Art Canoes have now been installed in various locations across Welland.  Local photographer, Anthony Gallaccio was on hand as the canoe ‘We Were Here First’ by Wainfleet Artist, Miguel Albino, was unveiled last week at the Welland Community Wellness Complex on Lincoln St. (Thank you Tony for sharing your photos with us here on #myWelland)

A Welland 'Little Free Library' fell victim to an arsonist this week.

The Library, located in Guerilla Park - a public park located on the west side of the Welland Canal between the Division Street Bridge and Welland Bridge 13, was established by local community members earlier this summer. Little Free Libraries are take a book, return a book” gathering place where neighbors share their favorite literature and stories. The Guerilla Park Little Free Library was contained within a donated fridge filled with books where anyone could stop by and pick up a book (or two) and bring back another book to share.

The Toronto 2015 Pan American Games got off to a roaring start for Team Canada as the Women’s K4 500 team captured the first gold medal of the Games early Saturday morning at the Welland International Flatwater Centre.

The 8th Annual Tony (Bandito) Valerio Memorial Car Show took place today at the Seaway Mall parking lot. 

Organized by Youngs Insurance Brokers proceeds from the event will be donated to the McMaster Children’s Hospital Foundation. Over the past seven years the Valerio Memorial Car Show has contributed more than $35,000 for the hospital’s pediatric oncology unit.

Concerts on the Canal have partnered with 2015 Pan Am Games and the City of Welland  this Friday July 10th for a PanAm Games Opening Celebration!  The Park opens at 5:30pm with a FREE KIDZONE featuring 2 jumping castles, Fantasy Soccer, Fantasy Basketball and more Pan Am Family Fun, 91.7 Giant FM doing a live remote, The Sands Trio performing at 7:30-10
