Watercolour Portrait Workshop

Explore faces and portraits from photos. The workshop will include tips for getting a good likeness  and colour theory.

Analyze anatomy, shape, light and shadow. Reference photos should be taken in natural light or sunlight. 

No flash photos please. Please also bring a black & white photocopy enlarged to painting size.

The challenge in portraits is in getting a good likeness  nd good painting technique together. 

For a more relaxed approach it’s recommended the subject not be a close relative.

Bring your own drawing and painting supplies.

Colors include quinacridone red, permanent rose, raw sienna, burnt sienna, burnt umber, cobalt blue, cerulean blue, Indian yellow or new gamboge, French Ultramarine, and any other colors you use.

Bring your lunch or visit the food court in the mall.
