The Welland Dragon Boat Festival is Welland’s premier water sports event. Dragon Boats are large flat water racing canoes constructed of solid teak and weighing 1500 lbs. Corporate and community teams made up of 20 paddlers, one drummer and a steers-person race in friendly competition.

The Welland Heritage Council and Multicultural Centre, partnered with TOES Niagara, invite you to our Black History Dinner, taking place on Friday February 10, 2017. We are looking forward to a fun-filled and educational evening celebrating Black History Month while Advocating for Excellency, the theme of our 2017 event. We are pleased to announce that funds raised from this event will go towards a scholarship that will be awarded to a student pursuing post-secondary education.

Learn to start your own business.  8 week program begins April 4 at the Welland Heritage Council and Multicultural Centre.  Microloan and mentorship opportunity available upon completion of business plan.  Please contact Lori for more information.

The Welland Heritage Council and Multicultural Centre is  thrilled to be the recipient of funding from Status of Women Canada for Improving Prosperity for Niagara’s Women Business Owners .  The Heritage Council project was selected through the Government of Canada’s recent call for proposals.

 

Women entrepreneurship workshops presented by The Welland Heritage Council offer an opportunity for participants to apply for a microloan and be mentored by a business woman upon workshop completion. Workshops happen from 9am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday. French Entrepreneurship Class: September 21 – November 13 at the Welland Heritage Council and Multicultural Centre; English Entrepreneurship Class: September 14 – November 6 at the Niagara Falls Public Library, 4848 Victoria Avenue.

Craft & Food Vendors wanted for #wellanddragonboatfestival on Sat June 6th. The Craft Show will take place on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the west side of the Welland Canal between the Broadway Bridge and Townline Rd. Welland, ON and is open to the public.
